SUPERNAP (Thailand) Co., Ltd. the state-of-the-art data center providing colocation, cloud and hybrid solutions, today announced that Yap Jin Yi has been named as Chief Executive Officer.

Yap Jin Yi has more 30 years of experience, including senior management positions with more than a decade of strategic development, plan execution and regional development for the largest carrier-neutral telecommunication exchange for digital infrastructure in Malaysia.

Under Yap Jin Yi leadership, the company will strengthen its channel partnerships, develop strategic alliances, and expand their international sales presence. Yap Jin Yi graduated with Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Akron, Ohio (USA) and is certified by the Uptime Institute as Accredited Tier Specialist and Accredited Tier Designer.

The company has also announced the completion of its first solar panel farm to power the facility by next month, enabling local and international customers access to sustainable IT infrastructure, in line with the country’s target to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050 and net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2065.

Boosted by the pandemic and high demand from global hyperscale cloud providers, data center growth in the Asia Pacific market saw growth of 24% in 2021 and Server infrastructure spending in the region will cross $37 billion by 2027.

The advent of 5G, and the adoption of advanced technology such as AI, big data, and IoT in the region has increased the need for superior digital infrastructure. SUPERNAP (Thailand) is the only data center in APAC to be able to provide up to 33kW of power per cabinet, the highest densities in the region, lowering costs on hardware, services and maintenance of its clients.

Moreover, the company have had zero downtime and zero security breach since its opening in 2017. The facility is located in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC), outside the Bangkok flood zone and close to international network submarine cable landing station.
