The CSR campaign starts first with Chulalongkorn University

SUPERNAP Thailand, a leading Tier IV data center service provider in Thailand, embarks on the year 2020 with a CSR campaign that supports education and building competency for the IT workforce. SUPERNAP Thailand aims at building a comprehensive knowledge base in data center technology to support the digital economy expansion. The company collaborates with the department of electrical engineering, Faculty of Engineering of the Chulalongkorn University to relay technology knowledge and earnestly molding professional IT personnel and state-of-the-art data center for the 4.0 era.

Sunita Bottse, Managing Director, SUPERNAP Thailand Company Limited discloses that “In order to accelerate the country, to step into the age of digital transformation entirely, it is essential to recognize data centers as a key driver since the foundation of IT innovation is rooted from managing mass data transmissions used in IT (Information Technology) and OT (Operation Technology) activities of business and industrial sectors. The data center technology is indeed the heart of driving these activities. Electrical infrastructure needs to be flawless, energized, and nourished around the clock. Therefore, in order to build highly-skilled workforce to make it happen, education is the most important piece, since it would enable us to create endless knowledge base. By collaborating with a leading academic institution like the department of electrical engineering, Faculty of Engineering, of the Chulalongkorn University, we are confident that we are able to transfer our knowledge in data center technology and help Thailand move forward into the digital age effectively.”

SUPERNAP Thailand’s CSR campaign is geared towards growing the knowledge base to keep the pace with the modern world and to supply the demand for electricity experts in the era of 4.0, which will be another driving force that help the country go fully forward in the digital economy.

In collaboration with the Faculty of Engineering, of the Chulalongkorn University, SUPERNAP will take the students fully on board with a hand-on internship program to learn about the data center industry from SUPERNAP Thailand, which is considered a holder of world-class technology innovations such as state-of-the-art data center architecture, advanced security system, modern cooling system, energy and monitoring system for efficient energy usage, and renewable energy usage. Every intern will also receive a monthly allowance from the Company.

“Our collaboration with the department of electrical engineering, Faculty of Engineering, of the Chulalongkorn University marks a new beginning for us. It is part of our CSR project created with an aim to increase the IT workforce, focusing on building competency of cloud and data-center specialist to meet and fully support the business demands in the age of digital economy. As Thailand’s first Tier IV, and the most advanced data center in the country, based on the Switch patented technology from Las Vegas. We are confident that the CSR campaign will transfer technology knowledge to the education sector, we are able to plant strong knowledge seeds for the country’s IT industry that would grow into world-class skilled digital personnel, helping Thailand create competitive advantages,” said Sunita Bottse.

This collaboration with Chulalongkorn University also includes the SUPER NETWORKING TO ACCESS POSIBILITIES project, which brings a dialogue in building knowledge base and understanding in Tier IV data center technology. Its main topic is about Data Center Ecosystems and Sustainable Developments. Furthermore, there is a competition themed The Future Data Center in 2030, creating a platform for student-led innovations, encouraging students to present their creativity to data center specialists.
